Hazlewood CCS Project

From MoxyWiki

In July 2009, it was announced by the owner of Hazelwood, International Power Australia, that following a comprehensive commissioning program, the Hazelwood pilot carbon capture plant was capturing and sequestering CO2. It is the biggest plant yet installed at an Australian power station and is located in the Latrobe Valley in Victoria. The $10 million pilot project is designed to initially capture up to 25 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per day from one of the power station’s generating units. The plant has the potential to eventually capture up to 50 tonnes a day. [1].

This project is partly funded by the Australian Government under Low Emissions Technology DemonstrationFund (LETDF) and the Victorian Government under Energy Technology Innovation Strategy Large Scale Demonstration Plant (ETIS LSDP).
