The Loy Yang A power station is operated Loy Yang Power, owned by the Great Energy Alliance Corporation (GEAC), whose shareholders are AGL Limited, Tokyo Electric Power company , Transfield Services Infrastructure Fund, Motor Trades Association of Australia Superannuation Fund, Westscheme and Statewide Super[1].
In April 2009, Great Energy Alliance Corporation Pty Ltd entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement with MBD Energy Limited for the development and operation of a pilot project at the Loy Yang site, using the MBD algal carbon capture storage and recycling technology[2].
