Ontario Feed In Tariff

General Description

The Ontario government has adopted a feed in tariff to encourage the use of renewables. The overall program has a number of different tariffs depending on the type of technology and the size of the facility ^[1].

Program Details

• Provides guaranteed 42c/kWh.
• Up to 10MW for solar facilities

However, incremental projects can be approved as well. Importantly, this is subject to the following conditions:

• You must be the owner of the existing renewable energy project
• The incremental project must use the same technology as the existing renewable energy project
• The incremental project must use the existing renewable energy project's connection and metering
