Port of Prescott

The Corporation of the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal[1] in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Ontario owns and operates the Port of Prescott.
The Port of Prescott
The Port:
- is located on the Great Lakes St Lawrence Seaway (the shipping route to Europe from eastern Canada)
- shipped and received 655683 tonnes of dry bulk cargo including salt, grain, aggregate, slag and fertiliser in 2008
- four marine dock, two landside
- a grain elevator.
- There is storage capacity for 154000 tonnes[2]
Key transport infrastructure for the port include:
- A spur rail line connects the port with the Canadian National Railway freight and passenger service.
- Within two kilometres of the port are:
- Highway 416, linking to Ottawa
- Highway 401, linking Montreal and Toronto
- The nearby Prescott - Ogdensburg Bridge links to the United States of America.
- the Port is 90 km south of the Ottawa International Airport via Highway 416
