1. BioWanze, Wanze-Huy
'BioWanze , Wanze-Huy: bioethanol from cereals and
sugar beet (300 ML/a), with full cogeneration plant
burning bran (22 MWe). Coproduct is wet animal
feed supplement (ProtiWanze, 300,000 t/a). Feed:
800,000 t/a wheat, 400,000 t/a beet.'

2. Electrabel Power Plant, Les Awirs
'Electrabel Power Plant, Les Awirs: 125 MW coal
fired power plant converted to an 80 MW wood pellet
plant. Co-firing does not get green credits in this part
of Belgium. Pellets sourced from as far afield as
Canada and South Africa. Supply via barges, but
soon via road as well.'
