The Gapminder application demonstrates succinctly how information can be transformed into knowledge by allowing the audience to view very complex datasets through a simple time series animation.
Here is an example of Gapminder applied to the relationship between international CO2 emissions and GDP between 1851 to 2005.
This visual data very effectively demonstrates the close relationship between CO2 Emissions and GDP; no country has been able to grow economically without emitting CO2. This data has disturbing implications for the upcoming COP15: United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
